Kira!!

A character from the Dark Crystal. I love the folds in her cloak. The pose is boring and such.. but I think it still looks nice. Working on getting her smoothed out so I can get her in the oven tonight. Even though it is spring break, I still need to stay on schedule. And since I will have extra time this week, I will make sure to post more pics =]

Fabric Study

Learning about hues and mixing paints is a great experience. Tough and frustrating at times.. but great. I am really happy with how this study turned out. It was an in-class assignment so I ran out of time to do the shadow and the wall, but I will most likely add it it later.

Leyendecker Baby

(wip) Hw for my painting class. Need to finish it over spring break.. I think the professor wants to commandeer it for a couple weeks. While working on this, I decided that there should be more blacksmith babies out there.

some life drawing

Just a few drawings from this month. I definitely need to make more time for life drawing.

Coat and Boots

Just made a vimeo account this week. So far so good... I used it to upload my animation assignment. Great alternative to youtube.

As for the animation, it could definitely use more tweaking and a better character design. But it's a big improvement so I can't complain too much :3

Hammer Strike

Quick screen shot of my rough animation for class. She will be attempting to ring the bell in the hammer strike game to win a prize at the carnival.

Leon takes better pictures than me.

That is my left hand. Oh, Mrs. Brisby is there too.

Life Model Painting

Painted yesterday in class. I believe it was between a 4-5 pose... but it's hard to say exactly with all the breaks for the model.

Count of Monte Cristo

Homework for painting class week 4 was to duplicate a painting by a famous painter or illustrator (black and white). I chose the Count of Monte Cristo by Mead Schaeffer. Starting to get the hang of this painting thing.

Getting closer to the end, but not quite there yet. Final is due soon so the sculpture will be done within the week. Will have better images for the final product, sorry for the bad pictures.

The foil process wasn't as pretty.. but next time will be better! Quickly on to the next step with super sculpey. Got the gray by mixing it with black and white premo (maybe it was fimo) clay. Did not like the flakiness so from now on I will stay with super sculpey only.

Mrs. Brisby

I took photos of my sculpting progress of Mrs. Brisby. At this stage I am pretty happy with the wire skeleton structure. Used the clay form of apoxy to make it sturdy. I don't think I will ever get used to the smell of that stuff...

old sculptures

Made these a couple years ago now for a sculpture class. Finally got images of them to post (with Leon's help, of course =D ) Soooo... here they are!! I am in another sculpture class this semester, hopefully it won't take as long to get up images!

horse rough+clean

Second version of the previous movie file. I thought I uploaded this one originally, but since I didn't.. here it is now =]

Perspective final

For this project we had to convert a plan into a 2-point perspective. I'm quite happy how this one turned out. Definitely came a long ways.

Trot cycle thing! that doesn't work!

I tried to put the gif of my animation up but I'm not sure why I can't get it to play. I'm sure I did something wrong. So here is a single frame of my trot cycle! It is pretty gesturely and I made it in just a few hours or so.. knowing that I'm quite pleased with the outcomes. I didn't want to just upload a quicktime because I wanted it to loop. Once I work out the technical issues I will post!

perspecitve 3 pt. and 5 pt.

My 3 pt. is ok, I like my 5 pt. better. I made it so that it pans from the top down, then to the left. As my professor calls it, "banana pan"!

aero!

Updating a creature/beast that I used to draw in high school. My friend gave them the name 'Aero'. They look really flat from being outlined but I plan to do more with these. I hope to update the look even more, so any comments are welcomed.

backgrounds

"TEXTURE!"
-Leon

A couple of samples from my student project. The title so far is "A Mouse in the House". I think it's kinda silly... but it goes with the story.

Used Illustrator for the outlines and placed the textures using Photoshop. Textures are my own (scanned from different papers).

Sorry for the bad picture! But I got a chance to see birds of prey at the school's arboretum so I thought I would share. This owl was hit by a car years back, damaging his wing. I think is has something to do with his name, "Wrong Way".

motion studies!

I also posted these on my new portfolio, but I love them so much that I wanted to post them here too.  I really enjoyed studying motion- I wanted to do more but I ran out of time.  There was a fifth one that I started and never finished.. perhaps I will have to revisit it.
